Exciting Announcement: Winner Family Drug Transitions to a Closed-Door Pharmacy

At Winner Family Drug, we are dedicated to providing the highest level of care to our patients. We’re excited to announce a significant transition in our pharmacy model that will enhance our ability to serve you better. Starting December 1st, we will be moving from a traditional storefront pharmacy to a closed-door pharmacy model. This change is designed to prioritize individualized care, focusing on optimizing medication management and health needs, especially for those with chronic conditions.

What is a Closed-Door Pharmacy?

A closed-door pharmacy operates differently from traditional pharmacies. While walk-in pharmacies cater to a wide range of customers, closed-door pharmacies specialize in providing medication management and consulting services primarily for specific groups, such as residents in long-term care facilities, hospitals, and individuals with chronic medical conditions. This model allows us to concentrate our efforts on delivering personalized care and support tailored to each patient’s unique health requirements.

By transitioning to a closed-door model, we aim to create an environment where we can devote more time and resources to understanding and addressing the individual needs of our patients. This is especially beneficial for those managing chronic conditions, as personalized support can significantly improve health outcomes.

Why the Change?

The decision to transition to a closed-door pharmacy model comes from our commitment to enhancing patient care. With this new approach, we can:

  1. Focus on Individualized Care: Our team will be better equipped to develop tailored medication plans that address the specific needs of each patient. We recognize that every individual’s health journey is unique, and we’re here to support you every step of the way.

  2. Enhance Medication Management: By concentrating on patients with chronic conditions, we can provide more thorough medication management. Our goal is to optimize your medications, ensuring that you receive the right treatments at the right times, ultimately improving your overall health.

  3. Improve Communication and Support: The closed-door model facilitates closer communication between our pharmacy team and healthcare providers. This collaboration allows us to offer more coordinated care, which is essential for patients with complex health needs.

Meet Our Expert Team

The leaders of this transition will be our Chronic Care Pharmacist, Jack Kerner and our Pharmacy Director, Marla Hayes. They bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in medication therapy management, and their expertise will be invaluable in guiding our efforts to enhance patient care. Together, they will focus on providing personalized consultations and resources to help you manage your medications effectively.

Continued Support for Chronic Conditions

We want to reassure our patients that, even with our new closed-door pharmacy model, those with chronic health issues will continue to receive comprehensive support. Our team is committed to helping you optimize your medication and health needs. We will provide ongoing consultations, educational resources, and a supportive environment to ensure that you have everything you need to achieve better health outcomes.

We will also be offering Dispill® and Med Sync to our customers. Dispill® is a multi-dose packaging solution that provides a 28-day supply of multiple medications to customers in an all-inclusive blister pack. Dispill® is a great solution for individuals taking multiple medications, as it eliminates the need for pillboxes and multiple pill bottles lessening the risk of mixing up medications.

Med Sync allows customers to pick up all of their ongoing prescription refills on a single, convenient day each month tailored to the customer’s preference. Scheduling a once a month appointment day allows time to visit with the pharmacist to discuss and resolve any medication-related problems or other healthcare concerns

The Benefits of Personalized Medication Management

One of the key advantages of our transition to a closed-door pharmacy is the enhanced focus on personalized medication management. This approach aims to:

  • Reduce Unnecessary ER Visits: By providing tailored support and monitoring, we can help you manage your health more effectively, reducing the likelihood of emergency situations.

  • Empower Patients: We believe in empowering our patients with the knowledge and tools they need to take charge of their health. Personalized consultations will help you understand your medications and their effects on your overall well-being.

  • Strengthen Community Health: By prioritizing individualized care, we aim to contribute to the overall health of our community. A healthier community benefits everyone, and we are committed to playing our part.

We Want to Hear from You!

As we embark on this exciting new journey, we’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback. How do you think our transition to a closed-door pharmacy will impact your experience at Winner Family Drug, especially regarding chronic condition management? Your insights are invaluable to us as we strive to improve our services.

Thank you for being a vital part of our community. We look forward to serving you in this new and improved capacity, dedicated to your health and well-being. Stay tuned for more updates on how we’re enhancing patient care at Winner Family Drug!
