The Winner Regional Health Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Charisse Oland, EdD, FACHE, MHA, RD, EDAC has been contracted to provide interim CEO services while a new CEO is being recruited. Oland will work with current CEO Kevin Coffey until his resignation takes effect on December 2, 2022.
Charisse holds a doctorate in leadership, a master’s level degree in healthcare administration, and a clinical certification in dietetics, Oland comes well prepared for this important transitional role. She started her leadership career as the CEO of Children’s Care Hospital and School (now LifeScape) in Sioux Falls, SD. Since that time, her thirty-year career serving as CEO of critical access hospitals in Minnesota and Wisconsin provides her with the necessary skills and experience to support Winner Regional Health while a new CEO is recruited.
Oland’s role will be to support all aspects of leadership and management for Winner Regional Health. She will be on-site several days each week and will be available to meet with the Board and the community to assure the hospital, clinic, and nursing home have the support they need to continue to serve the surrounding communities. It is anticipated that the interim role will be operational for approximately four months. During that time, the Board will define the characteristics needed in a new full-time CEO and will search, screen, and finalize the selection and onboarding process.
We thank the community for their patience and encourage all to welcome her as she brings continued leadership and value to our healthcare system. We encourage the community to embrace Charisse’s time in the community and we look forward to having high continuity of leadership during this transitional time.
The Board wishes to express its appreciation to the Winner Regional Health team for being a critical part of providing high quality and compassionate healthcare services within the region. We value their work and commitment to healthcare. The Board and team wish to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to Kevin Coffey for his dedicated service to Winner Regional Health for the past nine years. Kevin led the construction of the new addition, developed a physical therapy department, enhanced our outpatient services, navigated challenges surrounding COVID-19, secured state of the art equipment for the lab and radiology departments, and served as a strong advocate for advanced healthcare within the
region. We wish Kevin the very best as he moves onto his next career endeavor.
