SANFORD TEAM EFFORT SECURES NATIONAL H1N1 AWARD

At the National Influenza Vaccine Summit held in May 2010, the South Dakota Department of Health was honored for it's H1N1 immunization effort with the Summit Award for Immunization Caolitions/Public Health/community Campaign. This award was given for "outstanding efforts and partnerships during the 09-10 H1N1 vaccination campaign".
Doneen Hollingsworth, Secretary of Health, stated, "In South Dakota, H1N1 vaccination was truly a partnership effort. It is gratifying to see that outstanding collaboration and be recognized with this national award".
Winner Regional Healthcare Center, managed by Sanford, worked to ensure that all staff received H1N1 vaccinations. Ellen Storms, Infection Control at Winner Regional, stated the importance of employee/staff vacinations to ensure "the well-being of our employees, patients and residents as we worked throught the H1N1 pandemic".
